The Fall Sweater Challenge is winding down and the holiday season is ramping up! There are left-overs of all kinds around us – food and treats – and in yarn terms – basics and specials.
Here are a few options to help with the “left-overs” that we collect as we knit over the years.
Good food is a medley of textures, flavours – a “feast” for the eyes and nose. Good knitting patterns are somewhat similar; textures and colours – a “feast” for the hand and eyes!
Selena Miskin of Wayfaring Yarns found a use for some “special” yarn that she purchased while travelling! We all have vacation yarns – those exquisite options that we couldn’t pass up because we knew that we would never be that way again.

Selena is also running a special on all her patterns for Cyber Monday!
Susie Allen of East End Design Co. did some stash diving and found a part ball of some good “basic” worsted yarn. Her Leftover Headband is right on target for a few quick Christmas gifts for every teenager in your life.

And I – I collect yarn – Lots of yarn – lots of balls of different colours in the same brands and weights. And then I play. For this project I choose some DK, Buffalo Wool Co. Skies. in three different colours for my Cowl/Shoulder Cozy. Carousel Cozy is a fun pattern with a photo tutorial for it’s special stitch!
We hope that you find some “left-overs” to enjoy!
Happy Knitting
